Binders: All 5th graders are expected to bring their binders back and forth each night. They will have a homework folder in their binder of work that needs to be completed at home. We will use these binders daily for each subject we are learning.
Snacks/Water Bottles: We will have a snack time every day. Students who wish to bring a snack may do so. We ask that snacks are individually wrapped (handful of crackers in a bag, not the whole box of crackers). Please remember that snacks should be healthy like a granola bar, cheese sticks, celery, and not chips and cookies. 5th graders are allowed to bring water bottles filled with water ONLY.
Seesaw: This is a way students can share their work in the classroom at home with you! Please make sure you connect to your student on Seesaw to see class photos, updates, and what life is like in 5th grade.
Book Orders: Book orders from Scholastic will be coming home once a month. You are now able to browse the monthly club selections and place your order while helping our classroom earn FREE books and resources! Visit www.scholastic.com/parentordering to start shopping!
To get started:
1. Browse the titles with your child, and place your order with your credit card.
2. Your order will come to us, and your credit card payment will go directly to Scholastic’s secure server.
There’s no need to send money to school.
3. After I submit the entire class’s order to Scholastic, your order will be delivered to our classroom for your
child to take home. If this is a gift and you would like us to help keep it a secret, just send us an email
and we will let you know when you can pick up the order.
4. You may also set up your own parent online account, and our class activation code: P9BT3 will be on a
sticker on the scholastic order form you receive from school.
Birthdays: Newcastle has decided to celebrate birthdays in a unique way. Rather than bringing goodies into the classroom we will have a classroom celebration for our special student. Here, they will be honored with a small celebration of themselves and a small gift. Summer birthdays will also be celebrated throughout the year. Thank you for being mindful of this school rule.
